We just passed the anniversary of our first month of operation, and what a month it has been.
When I initially set up the club, I initially wondered how many people would join at the start of the summer. (We opened the doors on July 4, 2023.)
I was hoping for about 20 to get started, and we needed at least 10 to be part of Pickleball Canada.
I’ll have to look back but I believe we started at about 30, and the one month anniversary of opening our doors we now have 60 members.
I did a few facebook ads in June, and also had an article written about us in Cambridge Today and a radio interview with Mike Farwell on CityNews 570 back in June as well.
Since then everything has purely been word of mouth, and yet we doubled in size in one month. And that’s in the absolute middle of the summer.
Suffice it to say, I’m thrilled with that result.
I can’t wait to see what the next 2 or 3 months brings.
We typically have about 20 -22 people show up on Tuesdays and Thursdays. and we’ve all been having a blast. We’ve already made lots of new friends.
Thank you to the 60 people that have already joined. You put your faith in a new non profit club, and I believe we are achieving our vision quite rapidly.
But there’s a lot more to go.
In the fall we be adding more playing sessions to be prepared for more people. Essentially our plan is to expand in our locations as well as days to whatever the market demands.
That’s our challenge, but it’s an extremely exciting one, and we are grateful.
