On behalf of our Board and our club, we would like to take the opportunity to thank Christina and Rick for running our first Club Tournament! Feedback was extremely positive, members had a lot of fun and as spectators, we were able to witness some amazing games!! It was a lot of work in the background, but so smoothly run that they made it look easy… which means you too can volunteer to help run our next Club Tournament!!
There is a lot of important information to share. The topics include(with details to follow below):

- Special Opportunity for current members to bring on a new member
- Membership Renewal
- Custom-Made Paddle Covers -deadline to order through the club in time for Xmas (November 28th)
- Saturday Sessions
- DUPR rating opportunity
- Weather changes and Indoor footwear
1.Special Opportunity for current members to bring on a new member
We currently have a large waitlist! As a Board, we discussed, reviewed and hopefully have come up with a solution that will allow some to be released from the wait list. As a current member, you can sponsor 1-2 people to join our club. (Please note, sponsorship requests will close at the end of November and will be reviewed again in the future). If your person(s)are already on the waitlist, then we can release them and they will become active members once their dues are paid(their memberships will be good for the remainder of the year and 2026). If we have an overwhelming number of requests, we will do a lottery, blind draw to determine who can be released. Unfortunately, we still do not have enough space/sessions available to make membership open.
Monday and Tuesday nights are typically full or close to full on a regular basis.
Please send an email to admin@cambridgepickleball.ca with questions or names for sponsorship.
2.Membership renewal time!!!
This is your first friendly reminder that your membership expires at the end of December 2025. You will also receive an email from Pickleball Canada if your membership is set to expire.
3.Custom Made Paddle Covers – deadline to order through the club in time for Xmas (November 28th
From the tournament we had a couple prizes that were custom-made paddle covers. Our club is not profiting from any orders, just willing to organize a bulk order to avoid individual shipping costs. We already have about 5 requests and happy to organize more. Chris from Alfran Trophies will be coming into town for sure on December 10th, therefore orders must be sent to him by December 1st at the latest. Which means a deadline of Nov 28th for our club to ensure all orders are collected and then sent to Chris on time. Please send an email to admin@cambridgepickleball.ca if you are interested or have any questions.
4.Saturday Sessions
Currently we have 2 upcoming Saturday sessions available
November 22nd – 1000-1200 and again 1400-1600 — each session will have a max of 20 people
December 6th – 1000 -1200 and again 1400-1600 — each session will have a max of 20 people
-if these sessions are not popular, we will not continue
We do have a possible opportunity for regular Saturday session at another facility – details are being finalized and if feasible we will roll out more information.
5.DUPR rating opportunity
We announced an opportunity to obtain a DUPR rating by our club president Aaron Gooding. Once he has finalized the course and provided us with some upcoming dates, we will provide our members with more information, including cost per session. DUPR rating is not mandatory as a Pickleball Canada/Ontario member but strongly recommended. Tournaments are now requiring DUPR scores and those wanting to ensure a best matched game, it helps to have an update DUPR rating. Stay tuned for more!!

6.Weather changes and Indoor footwear
Reminder– with the change in weather it’s even more important to ensure you have a pair of indoor non-marking court shoes for all of our rental facilities!! Leave wet boots/shoes outside of the gym – Thank you!!
Dink, Smash and have fun!!
