It’s our tradition to offer a monthly update, both for our members and people viewing our website and considering joining Cambridge Pickleball Club.
If you are new to the club, welcome aboard. We are excited you have joined us. We are having a lot of fun.
We continued our rapid growth throughout the month of October.
We had a massive flurry at the beginning of the month and new members continue to join on a daily basis.
As a result, we ended up taking in 53 new members in October, and finished the month with a total of 160 members.
If you are new to the club, welcome aboard. We are excited you have joined us.
The influx of new members has meant our weekly Thursday pickleball introductions have been busy, and my first monthly 2+ hour full clinic was full as well.
That clinic went very well, and people that attended that gave me some great feedback with some ideas for future ones.
Pickleball clubs across the country are working hard to meet the demands of a rapidly growing community as the sport surges around the world.
We are no exception.
We rent space (which is difficult to find) from a church, and school boards.
But there is only so much space available at rates we can afford given our fee structure.
We also need to make sure that the people that come out to play have a quality playing experience, therefore have limited the attendance to each session to an appropriate number.
This means sessions are booking up quickly, especially now that the outdoor season is ending.
Knowing this, we continue to try to balance player experience, booking availability, sessions, times and locations etc. and to do so with in our budget.
In regards to this in coming weeks we may make some changes to booking policies, to help ensure more people have access. We will email our members when that is the case.
We are also continuing to explore the addition of more sessions, and hope to have news on that within a few weeks.
Finally, people need to remember we are a volunteer run non profit organization. All funds that come into the organization are used to cover expenses incurred by the club for rentals, nets, balls, etc.
And no one receives compensation for the work they have put into the club.
And we do not want to abuse the largesse of our volunteers.
This means we are always looking for people to help. If your would consider volunteering, please submit a message on the contact page or simply reply to one of our member emails.
Now with that said, let’s go play some pickleball.
